In an article on the expected surge of Internet buying this Holiday, The New York Times reported that REI is looking for an Eastern distribution point for early '06. This is expected save the company millions in shipping costs, said Matt Hyde, SVP/merchandising and logistics. It will also mean reducing the time needed to deliver goods from Seattle by at least 36 hours. The fuel price surge has benefited bike sales nationally. Hyde noted that REI sales of bike accessories related to commuting are up 30%.
The Golf Warehouse, the world's largest golf e-tailer, named Steve Tangdall director of corporate sales. With 15 years experience managing retail shops, private clubs and corporate sales programs, Tangdall oversees TGW's extensive range of corporate accounts, team sales and ASI purchases. He also directly manages sales of all logo products and high-volume orders. TGW has increased such sales by more than 200% over the past 12 months
WestLB increased Adidas-Salomon's target price to EUR180 from EUR175. It also increased FY05 EPS estimate 4.8% to EUR9.47 and FY06 6.1% to EUR11.02. It cited recent trading conditions, imminent divestment of Salomon and the bank's expectations of double-digit order growth for delivery through March '06. It maintains a buy.
Analyst Mitch Kummetz of DA Davidson maintained his neutral rating on K-Swiss. The 12-18 month target price has been reduced from $35 to $32. The five-year target price has been reduced to $45.
Redfeather Snowshoes is offering Shopatron's e-commerce solution to retailers nationwide to facilitate the online ordering process. With Shopatron, Redfeather is able to process orders placed 24/7 on its Web site at www.redfeather.com and then facilitate order fulfillment by automatically contacting a local retailer in the customer's area who carries the product to then ship it to the customer. Nearly free for retailers to use, Shopatron helps introduce online shoppers to local retail stores and enables stores to capture sales from purchasers who are using the Web after store hours.
Superfeet named Ward Collins product manager. Collins will be responsible for the coordination and management of the complete life-cycle of all existing and new Superfeet products. In addition, he will support designated sales and marketing programs for the company. Most recently, Collins was a sales representative for Superfeet in northern California.
